About the Atmospheric vent fan assist Defender (RG2F)

The fan-assist line answers the house with a marginal chimney but no room for a full power vent: the RG2F tanks still use a 3 in or 4 in draft diverter into a chimney or B-vent, while a high-efficiency blower pulls the flue gases through a tightly restricted baffle, which Bradford White's sheet credits with the family's higher efficiency ratings.

Both models are Defender Safety System flammable-vapour-ignition-resistant tanks with the ICON System electronic control, which removes the standing pilot, and both need a 120 VAC supply for the fan and control, so hot water stops during an outage. Inputs are 38,000 BTU/h on natural gas and propane alike; UEF runs 0.70 (40 gal) and 0.68 (50 gal) under the medium-draw test.

The fan makes these units unsuitable for the natural-draft-only rule of thumb applied to the plain atmospheric line; the blower's airflow and the draft-hood requirements come from the installation manual for the family. Whether CANRO stocks a given model for a job is confirmed at consultation.
