Bradford White service

Bradford White: no hot water, a leaking tank or a locked-out unit? Call and speak to a person.

Priority water heater service for homes and buildings in Metro Vancouver with no hot water, a leaking tank, a locked-out tankless unit or a relief valve that will not stop discharging. If you smell gas, leave the building and call FortisBC or 911 before calling us.

Call to check availability. This site does not promise 24/7 service or response times.

If the water heater is leaking

  1. Close the cold-water shut-off valve on the pipe feeding the heater, if you can reach it safely.
  2. Gas unit: turn the gas control to OFF. Electric unit: switch off its breaker. Do not touch electrical parts while standing in water.
  3. Do not cap or plug the relief-valve discharge pipe, even if that is where the water is coming from.

A leaking tank body cannot be repaired; a dripping relief valve or fitting often can. Call CANRO with a description of where the water appears.

Urgent Water Heater Service for Bradford White water heaters

A failed water heater is disruptive within hours and a leaking one can damage floors and the suite below. CANRO prioritizes no-hot-water and leak calls across its Metro Vancouver service area and states on its own site that standard 40 or 50 gallon tanks are typically replaced same-day or next-day. Call 604-359-1081 and you will be told honestly when a technician can attend; this site does not promise 24/7 availability, response times or arrival windows it cannot back up.

Gas smell and carbon-monoxide alarms are handled differently from a breakdown. They are emergencies for FortisBC and emergency services first, before anyone from CANRO is involved. A leaking tank is urgent but usually not dangerous if you shut off the cold supply and the gas or power; the leak panel on this page tells you how.

Process

How it works

  1. 01

    Safety first

If you smell gas or a CO alarm is sounding, leave, then call FortisBC or 911. If the tank is leaking, close the cold supply and turn off the gas control or breaker if you can safely.

  2. 02

    Call 604-359-1081

Tell us the brand, what the display or LED shows, and whether there is water on the floor. You get an honest attendance window.

  3. 03

    Make safe and diagnose

The technician isolates any hazard, then tests the unit to confirm the fault. The diagnostic fee CANRO publishes is credited toward the repair.

  4. 04

    Repair or replace

Repairs are completed where parts allow; a leaking tank is replaced with a free written estimate first.

Frequently asked questions

What should I do if the tank is leaking right now?

Close the cold-water shut-off valve above the heater, turn the gas control to OFF or switch off the electric breaker if you can do so safely, and keep clear of any water near electrical parts. Then call. Do not plug the relief-valve discharge pipe.

Do you offer 24/7 emergency service?

WaterHeating.ca does not advertise 24/7 availability. CANRO's contact page mentions on-call dispatch for true emergencies on Sundays and holidays, but its published hours are being confirmed. Call and you will be told honestly when a technician can attend.

Is a fault code an emergency?

Usually it is a breakdown rather than a danger. Look up the code for its documented meaning and safe observations, then call. Any gas smell or CO alarm is an emergency regardless of the code.
