Bradford White RG2PV75H6N19 in practice
The RG2PV75H6N19 is the 75-gallon flagship of the TTW power vent family, delivering a 121 US gallon (459 L) first-hour rating from a 76,000 BTU/h burner with an 82 US gal/h (310 L/h) recovery at a 50 °C rise. Its 26 in (660 mm) jacket and 260 lb (118 kg) shipping weight make it a floor-space and access decision, and it carries 3/4 in side space-heating connections.
Like the other high-capacity Bradford White tanks, it is certified to ANSI Z21.10.3 rather than the Z21.10.1 of the smaller power vent models, and the Canadian sheet excludes it from the Defender flammable-vapour-ignition-resistant bullet, which applies to the rest of the power vent family. It vents in 3 or 4 in PVC-family pipe up to 180 equivalent feet and needs a 120 VAC, 3.1 A supply. UEF 0.69 is a high-draw rating for tanks above 55 US gallons. The current catalog number ends in 19 (RG2PV75H6N19); the Canadian spec sheet prints the same model as RG2PV75H6N. Whether CANRO stocks this model for a given job is confirmed at consultation.
Best suited to
- Large homes and light-commercial spaces with no chimney and very heavy demand
- Potable plus space-heating applications on one power-vented unit
- Homes that want the largest power-vented tank available from the Canadian line
Limitations to know
- Not a Defender FVIR unit: the Canadian sheet excludes the 75-gallon model from the flammable-vapour bullet
- Requires a 120 VAC receptacle; no hot water during a power outage
- 26 in jacket, 260 lb shipping weight and 76,000 BTU/h input need space, access and gas supply
- Warranty excludes labour and anode consumption; anode inspection every 2 years is required

Maintenance the manufacturer specifies
- Inspect the anode rod every 2 years and replace when depleted; more often with softened water (manual, Maintenance item 9).
- Operate the T&P relief valve at least once a year to check it lifts and reseats without leaking (item 6).
- Drain about a gallon monthly to remove sediment (item 7); annual inspection by a qualified technician.
- Inspect the vent system at least once a year; check burner flames twice a year (items 10 and 4).

Hot water and scalding
- Water above 49 °C at a tap can scald in seconds, and children and older adults are at most risk. BC's plumbing code limits shower and bathtub water to 49 °C.
- Storage tanks are normally kept hotter (Health Canada advises 60 °C) to limit Legionella growth, with a thermostatic mixing valve tempering the water to the fixtures.
- Never bypass or remove a mixing valve, thermostat or high-limit control to get hotter water.
Official guidance: Government of Canada on water temperature and scalds and HealthLinkBC.
Frequently asked questions
Is the RG2PV75H6N19 sold in Canada?
Yes. The RG2PV power vent family is listed on Bradford White's Canadian residential gas page and on Canadian spec sheet C1261, which prints the model as RG2PV75H6N. The 19 suffix is the catalog form of the same current unit.
Is the RG2PV75H6N19 a Defender FVIR tank?
No. The Canadian sheet's Defender bullet excludes the RG2PV75H6N (and the RG1PV55H6N); the rest of the power vent family carries the flammable-vapour-ignition-resistant design.
Can the RG2PV75H6N19 run on propane?
The propane version is the RG2PV75H6X19 with a 75,500 BTU/h input. Fuel conversion is not a field procedure; order the correct fuel version.
