The RE250T6 is the tall member of the 50-class RE2 upright electric pair: 59 in (1499 mm) to the top of the heater in a 20 in (508 mm) jacket, the narrowest of the 50-gallon electrics. Its 64 US gallon (242 L) first-hour rating is five gallons above the short RE250S6, because the taller tank carries more usable stored volume above the heating zone.
It needs no venting, gas line or combustion air, only a dedicated 240 V circuit, and BC's plumbing code sets electric storage thermostats at 60 °C with fixtures limited to 49 °C by a mixing valve. Maintenance the manufacturer specifies
- Inspect the anode rod every 2 years and replace when depleted; more often with softened water.
- Operate the T&P relief valve at least once a year to check it lifts and reseats without leaking.
- Drain about a gallon monthly to remove sediment; annual inspection by a qualified technician.
