Water Heater Venting for Rinnai water heaters

The venting type decides which water heater a house can run: an atmospheric tank needs a sound chimney or B-vent sized for a 3 or 4 inch connection, a power vent needs a plastic run within its equivalent-length limits, and a condensing tankless unit needs sealed PVC-family pipe to an exterior termination with its condensate drained. This service does the vent work for whichever system is installed or planned.

Vent inspections check termination clearances, joints, slope and materials against the manual and code, and are the right call when a unit backdrafts, smells, or has never been checked.

Frequently asked questions

Can I reuse my old chimney for a new tank?

Only if it is sound, correctly sized and lined for a gas appliance; otherwise power-vent, direct-vent or tankless options are quoted.

Why does my heater backdraft or smell?

Draft problems come from vent sizing, termination location or combustion air; the inspection finds which before anything is replaced.
