Condensate Management for Rinnai water heaters
Condensing equipment produces acidic water that must drain through a trap that keeps flue gas sealed in the unit. A blocked, dry or frozen trap triggers blockage codes and shutdowns, which is why the installation and the annual service treat the drain as a first-class part of the system.
This service routes the condensate in approved material to a code-compliant drain, installs and primes the trap, adds a neutralizer where the receiving drain or local rules require one, and protects the routing from freezing in unheated spaces.

Frequently asked questions
Why does my tankless unit shut down in winter?
A frozen or blocked condensate drain fills the trap and trips blockage codes. Freeze-safe routing and a drain check are part of winter service.
Is condensate really acidic?
Yes, mildly. Approved materials and a neutralizer where the drain requires one protect the plumbing.
