Rheem IKONIC condensing tankless

The Rheem IKONIC is a fully condensing indoor tankless water heater that Rheem publishes at 0.96 UEF with ENERGY STAR qualification. The model CRTGH-S11i is listed at 11.2 GPM with 8, 10 and 11 GPM selections across the range, and Rheem states the unit is field gas convertible from natural gas to LP with the conversion kit included, which is relevant to homes changing fuel or replacing an existing unit.

The published installation feature set includes PVC vent runs up to 70 feet in 2 inch pipe or 150 feet in 3 inch pipe, the ability to flex vent through an existing B-vent up to 50 feet, 1/2 inch gas line compatibility subject to local code, and approval for installation in manufactured-home (mobile home) environments. The unit is listed as LowNOx, has Wi-Fi connectivity, and uses stainless-steel primary and secondary heat exchangers. Rheem also publishes Hot-start Programming, which keeps the unit in a ready state between back-to-back uses to avoid cold-water bursts. The warranty is 15 years on the heat exchanger with 5-year parts and 1-year labour.

The 0.96 UEF and the ENERGY STAR listing are the manufacturer's published figures; a rebate is never assumed from them, because program eligibility changes and is confirmed separately. Tankless sizing depends on the incoming water temperature, the temperature rise and simultaneous fixture demand. Whether CANRO supplies a specific IKONIC model and performs a gas tank-to-tankless conversion is confirmed at consultation.
