Rheem CRTGH Series condensing tankless

The Rheem CRTGH Series is a fully condensing indoor tankless water heater. Rheem publishes 0.93 UEF for the family, with PVC vent runs up to 60 feet in 2 inch pipe or 150 feet in 3 inch pipe, and states the enhanced design is up to 20 percent smaller and lighter to make one-person installs easier. As a condensing unit it produces condensate and needs a drain.

The published feature set includes 1/2 inch side-to-side clearance for tight spaces, 1/2 inch gas line compatibility subject to local code, and Rheem's Hot-start Programming that keeps the unit in a ready state between back-to-back uses to minimise cold-water bursts. Select indoor Wi-Fi models add built-in EcoNet Wi-Fi control and the LeakGuard all-inclusive leak detection and prevention system, which Rheem states detects any leak that comes from the unit. The family is listed in both natural gas and propane, and the GPM selection spans roughly 7 to 10 GPM across the model range. Rheem publishes a 15-year heat exchanger warranty with 5-year parts and 1-year labour.

WaterHeating.ca records the efficiency as the published UEF and does not convert it to a legacy EF. Tankless sizing depends on the incoming water temperature, the temperature rise and the simultaneous fixture demand, so a model is selected from a heat-loss and flow assessment rather than from the GPM figure alone. Whether CANRO supplies a specific CRTGH model and performs a gas tank-to-tankless conversion for a project is confirmed at consultation.
