Gas and Electrical Supply Capacity for Navien water heaters
A 199,000 BTU/h tankless unit draws about five times the gas of a 40,000 BTU/h tank, and a heat-pump or electric tank needs a dedicated circuit of the right rating. If the supply is undersized, the unit underperforms, other appliances starve, or the install fails inspection. This assessment measures what the house can actually deliver.
The check covers the gas line route and sizing, the meter and regulator capacity and supply pressure at the appliance, and the electrical circuit and panel capacity for electric and heat-pump equipment, with the upgrade work quoted separately.
Working on a Navien unit? Have the model number from the rating plate and any code or flash pattern ready. Browse Navien series, models and fault codes to find yours; the details carry through when you request service.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a bigger gas line for tankless?
Often. A 199,000 BTU/h unit draws roughly five times a standard tank's input; the assessment measures the line and meter before installation.
Can my panel handle a heat-pump water heater?
Most heat-pump units use a 240 V, 30 A-class circuit like an electric tank, but the panel and circuit are verified rather than assumed.
