GSW Envirosense power vent gas tanks

GSW publishes the Envirosense Power Vent as an ENERGY STAR Qualified high-efficiency condensing gas water heater. It uses a spiral heat exchanger that GSW says helps keep hot combustion gases in the tank longer, which means the water heats up faster. With a 22 in diameter, GSW states the Envirosense Power Vent can be installed in less space than a 75-gallon heater while delivering greater recovery rates and lower operating costs.

The published feature set includes 94% thermal efficiency, hot and cold side taps that allow combination systems for water heating plus space heating, radiant floor heating or other applications requiring a recirculating hot water loop, two anode rods for corrosion protection, and commercial-grade glass lining that protects all water-side tank surfaces plus the inside of the internal heat exchanger. A premium-grade hot surface ignitor eliminates the standing pilot. Venting is flexible: the unit can be vented with 2 in, 3 in or 4 in ULC S636 PVC, CPVC or polypropylene pipe up to 125 equivalent feet, with the installation manual controlling the full details. GSW lists a 50 USG capacity and states the family is available in natural gas only.
