GSW Envirosense power direct vent gas tank

The GSW Envirosense power direct vent is GSW's premium condensing storage tank. GSW states it is a high-efficiency condensing gas water heater with a spiral heat exchanger that helps keep hot combustion gases in the tank longer, which the manufacturer says means the water heats up faster. GSW describes it as ideal for larger homes with multiple bathrooms or luxury appliances such as whirlpool tubs, and lists it as ENERGY STAR qualified with a 96% thermal efficiency.

The published control and protection features include an AiQ adaptive gas valve that GSW states allows the gas valve to adjust to fuel type, quality and any abnormalities; a leak detection module that comes standard on all models; a touch screen with a menu providing precise temperature control, operating information, diagnostics and performance history; and a powered anode that comes standard on all models. Commercial-grade glass lining protects all water-side tank surfaces plus the inside of the internal heat exchanger, and the unit is available in 50 USG and 75 USG capacities.

Venting is flexible, and GSW states the unit can be installed as a power direct vent or a power vent heater.
