Moving from an atmospheric tank to a condensing tankless unit changes venting, gas supply, condensate and electrical; moving from an electric tank to a heat-pump unit changes the circuit expectations, air volume and condensate; adding recirculation changes the wait at the tap and the gas use. Frequently asked questions
Is tank to tankless always worth it?
No. The conversion cost is real (venting, gas, condensate, electrical), and a high-efficiency tank under a working flue is often the better value. The estimate shows both paths.
Can my electric tank become a heat-pump unit?
Usually on the same location and circuit class, with rebates currently tied to replacing an existing electric tank. Eligibility is verified per household.
